How Transmission Physician's saved my car.

In 2004 I lost my motor and decided to build a 396 that would hold a good amount of spray. Well by 2005 I had the motor and a "built" 4l60E and a TCI stall, or so I thought. I chewed up 5 transmission in 6 months and half the time not even racing? I lost several embarrassing races during this time and was very frustrated. I was maybe a week or so away from selling the car or going th-400, leaned on selling the car since I was so mad.

Then I went to a car show in Atl, met a guy who asked why I trailored the car? Well this guy turns out to be a Tech at Transmission Physicians. After I got back in town I got a call from the shop and he wanted to build the transmission. I decided to let these guys try it ONE time, the owner Fernando was VERY confident in his build and guaranteed it would hold. So I let him build it, I came to find out that I never had a "built" trans nor the converter that I was advised by the previous builder.

Anyway, since then I have had the same transmission for 2 years and beat the bejesus out of it. The car has many 10 second passes and about 8K street miles, not all easy if you catch my drift. Car to date has ran a best 10.43 and 60 fts in the 1.4x area. I hope to push this car into the nines on the 4l60E. Now Transmission Physicians does ALL of my modifications:

Welded in my 6 point cage.
Converted opti to ls1 style coils (LTCC).
Installed FJO N20 controller.
Installed 12 bolt rear end (includes tucked rear (3") and cutting to fit the rims/tires).

My car was making well above 600 HP and my stock transmission just wasn't holding the power and allowing me to shift the car like it should be, So I knew I needed a well built transmission that could handle the power,  I had heard good things about Transmission Physicians, So decided to give them a try.

When I first Spoke to the TP's owner, Fernando, I was happy to find that he spent the time to go over everything with me in great detail, explained exactly what parts were going to be used and how they would help the performance of the transmission.  After this, I had made up my mind that I was going to have them do my work. I was again impressed that Fernando kept his shop open up late for me that night so that I could bring the car in after work. that was extremely helpful to me.  While dropping my car off, Fernando said If I would like, I could stop in the next day and take a look at everything so I could get a better understanding about the entire transmission, I definitely took him up on that offer, and when I arrived the next day, Lead technician Chris stopped what he was doing and took about 30 minutes and walked me through the entire transmission and what was happening in my old transmission and how all the new parts were going to benefit. etc. etc.  I was extremely happy being able to see all of this with my own eyes, it was very educational.

The next day, I picked up my car, took it for a test drive and right away I was really impressed on how well the car shifted even during normal operation. It was a huge improvement. Since then, I have been giving my car hell at the 1/4 mile drag  strip and it has been doing extremely well and I couldn't be happier!   I have to say my experience with TP has far exceeded my highest expectations and now has a customer for life!
